SDCS Tuition Payment Policy

Tuition shall be paid at a rate set by the Board. The tuition amount is subject to change annually at the time the budget is approved by the membership.

If a significant un-forecasted decline in revenue or unavoidable increase in expenses occurs during the year, the Board reserves the right to apply a tuition or transportation surcharge as a last resort to avoid deficits of an unmanageable size subject to membership approval.

Registration & Deadlines: For existing families, Intent To Register responses must be submitted by January 31st. If returned in time, a $250 discount applies. The SDCS Tuition Payment Calculation Form must be completed by June 1st; timely submission grants an additional $250 discount.

Financial Need: If parents become aware of financial need, they are required to meet with two members of the Finance Committee prior to the school year commencing. Tuition may be reduced (typically not below 66% for two-parent families or 50% for single-parent families) based on FAST application results.

Arrears & Withdrawal: Should payments fall behind in excess of 90 days, the Board may determine that parents should seek alternate means of education for their child(ren). A $25 fee applies to NSF payments. For mid-year withdrawals, an early withdrawal fee of $500.00 applies, and the Board reserves the right to withhold report cards until balances are cleared.

Procedure A: Pertains to those who indicate need before they are in arrears. Includes a visit from the Finance Committee and a FAST service review.

Procedure B: Pertains to those behind in payments (60+ days). Includes contact via email/phone and potential loss of enrollment privileges if 90 days overdue.
